Glassware that looks like an object
The "i-line" series, designed in 1956 by Timo Sarpaneva for the Finnish glass manufacturer iittala, is a masterpiece that took industrial design in a more artistic direction. The circular rim is flat and smooth, creating a sharp, modern appearance that strongly evokes the atmosphere of the 1950s. Whether placed on a table or cabinet, it looks like a beautiful work of art just by being placed in its space. Another charming feature is the way the colored glass changes appearance depending on the environment. There are bubbles likely to have occurred during production and small scratches consistent with age, but no chips or cracks are visible.
